Reviewed by grumpier on Feb 22, 2011julius gave us exactly what i asked for in a 3 day masai mara safari with balloon trip at the lowest price of the 5 quotations i received.
everything went smoothly from making the initial email enquiry from the uk until his driver dropped us back at the hotel after the marvellous experience of the safari.
after getting a taste for the safari with a visit to tsavo east and west last year, we decided to go to the masai mara this year and found this to be on another level altogether. the animals are much more abundant and on the open plains where you could drive right up to them whereas in tsavo you cannot leave the road.
we chose the royal mara for our camp because it only had 8 tents. tents????
a truer description would be wooden bungalows with a canvas flap.
each tent???? overlooks the river where there are no shortage of hippos and the odd crocodile.
daytime meals were outside overlooking the river and evening meals were round the campfire. our last lunch was on the open plain with views to the horizon all around.
memories to last a lifetime.
Brilliant two day safari
Reviewed by Trevleeds on Feb 16, 2011We have just returned from Mombasa and had a wonderful 2 day Safari. We met Julius who was charming and very polite and knowledgeable. Sisto was our driver, he had eyes like a hawk. He often spotted the animals well before us even though he was driving at the time! I would recommend JT Safaris to anybody. Binoculars, camera with zoom lens and a good hat are essential. I will definitely return next year.
What a fabulous trip
Reviewed by 1944Lynne_K on Feb 15, 2011We have just recently returned from a two week holiday in Mombassa. We had booked a safari trip prior to travelling with Julius T Safaris after reading the recommendations on Tripadvisor. We were certainly not disappointed with the service we received. We were met on our arrival by Julius. He was an incredibly lovely and polite person. Nothing was too much trouble and he certainly catered for all our needs. On the start of our safari to Tsavo East and West we were met by our Driver Daniel. Daniel was absolutely great. He had a great sense of humour , very knowledgeable and knew this trip like the back of his hand. He made several suggestions regarding the trip and we were thankful for everything. He did his very best in finding all the animals only to be eluded by the rhinos. In view of everything else we had seen it was not a disappointment to not see the rhino. Julius runs a great service and his staff are great and very knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend Julius T Safaris for both safaris and day trips. It is our hope to return to Kenya at some stage in the future and would certainly contact Julius again.
Fantastic
Reviewed by maureen2010Boldon on Feb 12, 2011As a party of four adults we have just returned from a wonderful two week holiday in Kenya. Midway through our holiday we went on the two night three day Tsvaro East and West which we booked from the UK with Julius. Julius was very prompt in answering my emails and on our first day in Kenya he met us outside the hotel. He introduced us to our driver Sisto and also showed us the safari van we would be travelling in. We payed our deposit of £50 per person and the rest of the payment was made on the day of the Safari.
Sisto met us at 06.30am as arranged. He was an excellent driver who was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the environment. He was amazing spotting the animals and we felt very safe with him. We sayed at the Ashgill Aruba Lodge and Kalguni Serena Lodge both were excellent with fantastic views of scenery and wildlife. Food served in both lodges was excellent. We have some amazing photographs of the animals although we did not see a rhino.
On return from the safari Julius contacted us to ask if we enjoyed the Safari. He gave us wood carvings of the animals which we thought was a nice gesture.
I would like to return to Kenya and undertake the Masa Mara safari. I would not hesitate in booking this Julius Thuvi as he provides a first class professional service which is much cheaper that the safaris offered by tour operators based in the Voyager hotel where we stayed.
I would like to say a big thank you to Julius and Sisto for making our holiday in Kenya so memorable.
Memorable 2 day safari
Reviewed by MBRWales on Feb 6, 2011We were picked yp from our hotel reception at 5am by our driver, Sisto. We had the jeep for the two of us. There is a lot of driving but once you get into the parks there are lots of animals to see. Sisto was excellent at spotting animals, very knowledgeable & good company. We went on the 2 day Tsavo East & Tsavo west Park spending a overnight stop at one of the lodges. We were fortunate to see the big 5. The highlight of the trip was 6 lions within metres of our jeep. The following morning we were in the jeep by 7am. It was an exhausting trip but we had the next week in Mombasa to relax. We would definitely recommend a safari trip with Julius' company. Many of the package deals were more expensive and often had 6 people in the jeep.
